After leaving the Manhattan Theatre Club In 1969, Bob and Jo-Ann Sickinger, he as artistic director and she as the theater’s rental manager, started a  messaging service from the back of their New York City apartment. They worked day and night, dedicating their efforts 24 hours a day.

They set out to create an all purpose shop for just about anything that anyone could want or need and called it, Everything for Living Space. With only one call, clients could find virtually anything; a product, service, or place to live.

A mover could find a used van or a student could drive someone else’s car across country. Businesses secured new commercial office space and had their telephones answered without hiring in-house receptionists. Households in need of a plumber, housecleaner, or electrician could be sourced. And it only took one phone call.

With a commitment to innovation and customer service satisfaction, Bob and Jo-Ann’s hard work paid off as the business grew. They responded to their client’s feedback which resulted in new services and strong customer relationships.

When Bob’s son, Robert Porter, joined the team in 1992 a new vision for the company began to form.
